This weekend myself and 3 of my friends went to the Lake District to stay in a little Lodge called Dickens Lodge. It was fully equipped with a hot tub on the front and set in a beautiful park with lovely views...not that we saw much of the countryside as we spent all of our time drinking wine, cocktails and beer in the hot tub and then recovering the day after! It was lovely to not have to do anything and now that my degree is done, celebrating is my new hobby!

I am currently impressed by Wallis and their new 1923 range which features original designs and prints from the Wallis design archives. The dresses are so feminine with a vintage essence and I could quite easily see myself wearing one of these over the Summer. My favourite is the bottom right one as the colours are so bold and the shape is extremely flattering.

I may even treat myself when all of my Uni work is finally done!

Charity shops are amazing and today I was not let down! I came across a Burberry trench coat for FIVE POUNDS! Bargain! It is wayyy too big for me so it is currently selling on ebay - this link will take you straight to the page on ebay if you're interested in buying. I also bought some other items for my second klub shoot, and of course some more things for my wardrobe...with money I don't have.

Over the weekend I received some lovely dresses which I had won on ebay and I thought I'd show one off today. I have gone mid-length mad, as I love how this trend is so flattering to ladies with a little extra weight. The mid-length has such a retro vibe but has been updated with sheer material and romantic colours. This one has little caramel coloured leaves all over it and I know that I can dress it up at night or down in the day.

What does everybody else think of mid-length? Loving it as much as me? or sticking to the mini?! I'll be posting more outfit posts later in the week...

I am currently lost in a world I call klub. I am living, breathing and thinking klub at the moment. I have just bought some amazing frames off ebay which are going to be perfect for my final exhibition piece. I want to portray the visual experience as one which focuses on looking through a shop window. Although the brand is online, you still see the brand and its concept through a window so I am taking my initial inspiration of Fred Butler and adapting this to a not so literal way - if that makes sense. The picture frames will have different depths and images in each one. The fact that these frames need restoring is perfect. I just hope my idea and sketches of it can be pulled off! FINGERS CROSSED!

I am home next week and I plan on taking some outfit shots to post as I haven't done it in aaaaages.

I've launched a new blog today with its own domain name for my Final Major Project brand. As I've probably stated before, I'm launching a a new menswear label which is only available online. I wanted my own domain name for the blog which would link through from the website - a. To look more professional and b. So the blog could be linked to from the indesign pages of my website. It's VERY basic at the moment and has no photos/posts etc... BUT is a working progress so feel free to follow it at this early stage and show it to any male bloggers you may know. I bought a new polaroid instant camera off ebay and it's maaassssive. I like going backwards with my camera technology. My digital nikon slr is amazing but I love film cameras and now have an old polaroid camera, a diana mini, lomo fisheye and this Fuji instax camera. The polaroids are more of a rectangular shape so when I have some film and do my shoot next week, I'll post theme here to show you the result. Here's a picture...it is almost bigger than my head!

Again I am back to my rubbish ways with my last post being exactly a month ago but I am in the process of trying to pass my degree so blogging goes to the bottom of my list. Anyhow I've been researching researching researching this week and have found some images which I have used as inspiration. I'm currently developing my major project which involves hypothetically launching a menswear online label called Klub. It's going to be a visual label, with an interactive site and I'm trying to develop a way of displaying the garments on the site without using the dreaded white mannequin or random people in front a white background. These are images which I have pulled from the internet over this past week...

Some of them aren't particularly high res but you get the picture of the route I'm trying to take. I love the idea of a window frame and looking through it...so this could be something which my final exhibition piece takes into account.

Oh and I'm going to the Burberry Prosum show at London Fashion Week on Monday courtesy of my Uni...something good had to come out of going to Huddersfield! - so I'll be uploading phone pics of this next week (hopefully!)

A kimono jacket from Topshop. I'm not supposed to be buying much but I got staff discount so it isn't too much. Also I am sick of ordering dresses etc off the internet and finding they don't fit when they arrive so this is a very safe bet. I know it will look fine and I can wear with high waisted shorts and heels for a night out or in the day to uni. Also I am liking kimonos at the moment and this won't be the last one I will be buying!

I need to start bringing my camera to Uni so I can take pictures whilst I'm here and blog. These pictures are taken with an App on my iphone called Hipstamatic and it allows you to take pictures in a kind of polaroid format and switch between lenses/flashes and film. The first image is of a lovely purse I bought today in the best thing about Huddersfield - Magic Vintage. It's a tartan design and is big enough for all the rubbish I throw in my purse. I had my ASOS delivery today - the cream dress pictured in my ASOS post, Henry Holland suspender tights and some black boots. I've been on the hunt for boots for ages and these are not the perfect ones but they're good for real leather and £24 is a bargain. They're sat alongside my Office mustard brogue boots which are my favourites. I just need to wear them more. The last image is of my most recent obsession - not drying my hair properly and putting it up in a high bun which makes me happy as I don't have to spend time doing my hair. Plus it has just been bleached more so is pretty dry. I love the effect these images have.

It was actually Company magazine this month which has inspired me to get my cameras out more as they have a feature on three different photographers who are of course ultra-cool and have worked alongside Rankin and work for Lomography. ...I quite like Fearne Cotton's outfit in this picture. I'm not 100% on the hat but I love how the colours match and she is wearing the same boots as I have but in a grey colour. Mine are mustard, although at first I was a bit iffy on the colour, they do actually go with most of my wardrobe. I'll include them in an outfit post in the near future.

I've just been drawn into the ASOS sale and as much I am trying to resist, my shopping bag already has 3 items in. All pretty cheap, but at a time when my bank isn't in the best state, I shouldn't be looking at all! Ahh well. I've noticed the styling on some of the outfits and to be honest thats what has made me look at the items even further. It's a breath of fresh air when you compare these images to the lifeless mannequin shots which Topshop uses. The bobble hat look is my favourite and I intend to be wearing my bobble hat a lot more (even if my Dad does say I look like Wheres Wally).

I currently have the cream button up shirt dress in the basket - at £16 it's a bit of a bargain!

Not only is it Christmas in 12 days but it is my Birthday on the 22nd. I love being a Christmas baby as everyone is festive and looking forward to Christmas so my Birthday is usually one big party. Anyhow I hoope I'm getting this for one of them. It is a skull friendship bracelet from Links of London. I'm not a Pandora girl so this will be the new piece for my fast growing Silver collection. (Picture quality is rubbish. Sorry!)

I'm off to York for the night on my Birthday so I will be snapping away as I haven't taken my camera out with me for a while. And it is my Christmas doo this weekend so my new dress will be put up here. I was going to post an outfit post today but my camera died just as I got it on the tripod and I have no idea where my charger is. Not posted in aaages. The title of this post is related to the weather and also the song I was listening to at the time of writing this post - Gorillaz. Everything seems so much quieter and eerie when it has snowed and all I want to do is stay in bed with a brew, hot water bottle and a stack of DVDs. However, uni and the fact my body clock now gets me up at stoopid o clock means that I am up and getting square eyes from Indesign. Anywayyy, Topshop make-up has finally made its way into my make-up bag and its lovely. The lipsticks are by far the best I've ever bought - including Benefits Rouge lippie. Here are the colours I'm currently wearing - red in the day/night and the darker red for evening only!

I've also been ebaying and Topshopping. The striped dress is an ebay find and will be hemmed soon - or kept the same depending on how it looks - and the brown and black numbers are both Topshop. The black one is planned in for my Christmas schedule and I'm planning a grunge attack with it and the brown one has already been worn out and I love it. I'm not usually a Topshop whore but I am this month!

Our magazine, Book, asked illustrator Eleanor Franks to produce an illustration for a chapter of Frankenstein, which we could have in the magazine. Eleanor has just recently graduated from Manchester Met Uni and her work is just lovely. The second photo shoot which we had planned to do for Book, was a shoot revolving around dolls. Our features editor, Natalie, mentioned that her Mum makes dolls so we asked to look at a few. They are amazing and all made from environmentally friendly materials. Natalie made them out to look like vodoo dolls or something off the Bride of Chucky, but they are so beautiful and original. I want all of them!

The dolls are perfect for Book as we didn't want to do two model shoots which would look very similar. To use the dolls also fit into the Frankenstein issue as they aren't alive and have been made to look like humans. We plan to name each doll after a famous model and lay the shoot into the magazine as a 'best of' different designers. They aren't for sale as of yet, as the price and name of the dolls is still being decided but as soon as Natalie has any more info I'll post it here so you can buy your own doll!

The photography was done by myself and Jenna (Creative Director) did the styling of the shoot.

Yesterday was our photo shoot day for our Magazine - Book. We are basically in the process of producing a magazine called 'Book' which is a microniche magazine aimed at an audience of creatives, both nationally and internationally. The concept of the magazine is that each issue will be based on a book - hence the name 'Book'! We needed a first issue which will visually make an impact on those saturated shelves so our first issue is based on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Think eerie, spooky and gothic with a little bit of horror thrown in.

Our group were really pleased with the outcome of the shoot and we achieved the wanted eerie look to go with the magazine theme. I did the photography and think that these will be amazing for a portfolio. I still want to do some shoots with the use of professional lighting - as I'm not too good with that - so we have a studio shoot planned with some dolls which we are featuring in the magazine. The good thing about using dolls is that we don't have to give them orders, we just place them and snap! I will show these images when they are done. Hope you all like the shoot as much as I do!

Hello again to my few followers and apologies for not posting in the last forever! I am back at Uni now and it's all go. I have a magazine project to complete in the next 6 weeks which has just been approved today in a Dragon's Den type presentation so we are going ahead with our Magazine. I will be updating you all with the photo shoots, visuals, features and illustrations we will be using for the magazine as I think you will all love it.

Whilst I'm being a Uni geek, have a look at this photographer called Ellen Rogers. Her photography is beautiful and she never uses digital cameras just film and a dark room. I love her antique take on photography and wish I had the resources to produce some Ellen Rogers style photography.

So as I'm usually working alllll the time and don't have time for regular spread out posts, I'm going to overload my blog with Saturday posts! I have had a shoe splurge in the past few weeks (since pay day) and have bought two new pairs to last me for Autumn/Winter - that's the plan anyway. The first pair are a shoe boot clog type thing (great description!) from Very.co.uk and are from Love Label. I love how chunky they are and they will really add to an outfit.

The next pair are from where I work and will go nicely with Winter dresses and woolly tights in the coming months. They are so comfy and I can't wait to wear them again and again.

I have been searching for some inspiration for a photo shoot I have planned for Me&Yu. I have gone back to one of my favourite photographers which I once blogged about ages ago. She is called Irwin Barbe and her photos are amazing. She uses disposable cameras and medium format cameras along with other film cameras to create her breathtaking but simple photos. She is only 17 and focuses on pictures of her friends doing everyday stuff and going out together. The original idea was to use a laundrette which I'm still working on but I quite like the idea of the wintery beach painted with the grunge brush! The girls that I'm using are gorgeous and will be grunged up to the maximum. I'm also working on an abandoned fairground ride which I'm sure I have spotted in Southport so this week is location spotting week. Here are some of my favourite Irwin Barbe images...

Leeds Festival.

I went yesterday for a day and it was amazing. I thought as I usually go to Leeds and camp, I wouldn't want to leave, but my old age meant I couldn't have been happier to be going home to a warm bed! After way too much cider and my feet being murdered by my Dr Martens, here are some of the results of my Nikon D5000, which I bravely took with me to get some good quality photos of the day.

I've made an exciting new discovery this week...a brand called 'Queen's Wardrobe' which I discovered on Look Book whilst flicking through some looks. I went on the website and found that the girl who had posted the look had done modelling for the brand, which I always think is a little bit of a cheat on look book! Anyhow, the dress which I have featured in this post is from Queen's Wardrobe and costs around £52. I love how elegant it is and the length is just perfect for my wardrobe right now. I would definitely buy it for either Summer, Winter, Spring or Autumn!

The thing I secretly love about researching information for Uni, is the photographers, artists and designers I come across just from opening my eyes and reading a book. For my dissertation research on Fashion Branding, I stumbled across a Fashion photographer which I hadn't heard of before, called Vincent Peters. I have definitely seen his work before but have never known of him. Here are some favourite shots I have dragged from the Internet...

His rich photography style enables him to put a stamp on his photos before you even read who the photographer is. The top three are my favourites from the ones I have chosen, as they are glamourous and have an old fashioned essence to them. His black and white shots are so strong that I think they are more effective than the colour shots in some ways. In the bottom photo, he manages to cross over the surreal fashion photography world with a somewhat ordinary scene of children playing. If you happen to check out Vincent Peters website, you will notice that he uses this in many of his photos, to a great effect. This weekend has been quite a good one. First of all I was treated to an amazing new imac to do all my Uni work on next year and for many more years to come! and then on Saturday night I went out. Now usually I'm a local indie/rock club girl but my friends decided to spring a new (well not new more like hated) place on me during the week which filled me with dread. We basically went to the local rough people of Preston hang out. If there hadn't of been a dance floor playing Abba classics and Bon Jovi I may have died from bleeding of the ears from listening to rubbish rnb and dance all night! Anyway here is what I wore - an accidentally taken picture by my friend Sam -

The chino/cigarette/peg pants - I have lost track of what to call them! - are from Zara and cost £25.99 which is why I love Zara. In Topshop these would have been around £40 and probably would have split because of my huge bum but Zara always gets trousers just right and at a steal of a price. The lace top is actually a long cardi from Topshop sale at an amazing £12 and I have simply tucked it right in for a clinched waist. The bustier underneath is an underwear item from Primark which I usually wear as a 'tuck me in' garment! And lastly the shoes are in the Dorothy Perkins sale at £20 and are actually VERY comfy.

I've been searching for a brown aviator jacket for a while now and I think I might just have found the perfect one - without the massive ebay bidding war for it. Warehouse have one in their collection for Autumn/Winter 2010 and I am dieing to get it. It is quite an expensive piece at £150 but I am completely willing to pay it. Burberry Prorsum have one (amongst many amazing coats) in their A/W 2010 collection too. I just need some Ray Ban aviators to finish off my winter look!

Okay so I'm back from Benicassim and I am VERY depressed about this. If it wasn't for having lots to do in August - which includes attempting to fit into a bridesmaid dress for my cousin's wedding, eek! - and the fact I'm off to Portugal for a week in September I think I would actually contemplate suicide. So maybe that's a little bit strong but how depressing is the English weather at the moment?! I stepped off the plane to major rain and it hasn't stopped. Booooo. Anyhow Beni was amaaaaaazing and I wish I was still there, dancing away to some of my favourite bands. I am getting my Diana pictures developed tomorrow. I'm a little apprehensive as to what they are going to look like as I'm pretty sure it messed up halfway through but we shall see!

I've been running around Preston today grabbing some last minute needs (and wants!) for Benicassim. I needed a rucksack so I dragged my Dad with me as he likes to pay for practical things and then I dragged Mum round as she occasionally likes to pay for pretty things! I have begun to form a pile of things to pack on my bed but don't have the will to do anything until the last minute. I took a picture of what I am eventually going to pack...

Okay so there's quite a few toiletries here including sea salt spray for my unwashed hair and of course some good old dry shampoo. The electric blue bag on the left is from M&S and is from the Limited Collection. I saw it today and I really liked it which surprised me a little as I never buy bags from highstreet stores but I thought this will be perfect for my four festival nights next week. My ray bans are poking out of my bag and I can't wait to wear them. The grey hat I bought today from Topshop in the sale along with the bikini - both for £7! I finished my placement a few months ago and I love having a look through Me&Yu's website and blog for information on what they're up to at the moment. I've been oggling some of the new designs as they are soo cute and wanted to showcase a few of them on my blog for those new followers who may have missed my Me&Yu themed posts before April. Me&Yu specialise in handprinted and handmade designs and their amazing mix of screen prints and transfers are what they are best known for. This one is where my post title is taken from and I have fallen in love with the quote. It's an amazing design and you all should have one in your wardrobe. I know I'll be getting one asap!

'They're like moments of time' is another cute Summer print which will look amazing as an oversized vest with some leggings or tights or even bare legs of you're brave enough!

'Lilac Swallows' is another favourite of mine. It is available in the vest option too but I think I'd prefer this print as a baggy tee with the sleeves rolled up. That's the great thing about Me&Yu designs - you can wear and adapt the garment to however you like or feel comfortable wearing. I have an entire section of my wardrobe dedicated to my Me&Yu pieces and I wear them differently all the time.

I've been drooling over some real Ray Ban Clubmaster sunnies for a while now as I'm getting fed up of cheap Topshop copies breaking on me and looking rubbish. Sooooo i have scoured ebay and obviously they all go for silly prices and have been used and scratched so I found a website which sells them for around £80 and in a moment of madness I've just bought them! I know I'll wear them everyday - even in Winter if I can! - and that by looking after them they'll always look amazing and last.

I've gone the for Tortoise shell colour as I'm a big fan of Tortoise Shell shades. I probably won't have them off all Summer so you'll be seeing lots of pictures of them posted on here!

Diana Mini.

My Diana Mini first results are now here! I got them back on cd yesterday and I am pretty happy with my first test batch. Some of them are a little iffy and too dark so I think I need to invest in a flash and for now use them in the bright shining sun in Benicassim.

That's just a small showcase of some of the best ones. I shot this film on half frame so I am looking forward to seeing the results of the square format frames. There'll be many more to come from Benicassim in the next few weeks.

Following my jewellery post I wanted to show off my own collection which I always wear without fail. If I ever forget to put any of my rings/bracelets on I feel really bare. Also any jewellery I buy has to match what I already have, so no gold for me!

Starting from the left the first ring is a vintage Avon ring which I 'borrowed' from my mum and never gave back. The middle two are two which I always wear together and the bottom one I got for my 21st from Pandora and again the top one is from my mum's room. The pearl was one I bought in York the other weekend and it matches perfectly with my other three. I'm trying not to look like I'm creating a knuckle duster so I won't be wearing anymore on this hand - Now I can start on the other hand!

Whilst having a look at some blogs today I came across a jewellery website which sells some beautiful pieces. I would love to splash out on some necklaces but going on holiday in a week means I can't - unless I whip out the dreaded credit card eeek! It's called 'Sugar and Vice' and is a small independent jewellery label. You can buy your very own personalised necklaces which are handmade to any name, quote or word you like. If you sign up to their mailing list you will receive lots of offers from them including information about their frequent sales.

I particularly love the camera piece at the top and miiight just have to buy this one! And the way in which the jewellery is photographed with the different paper behind them is so unique. My Diana Mini.

My camera collection is growing and growing and my new edition is a Diana Mini. I love film cameras as my digital files end up clogging up my computer and never getting looked at, whereas actually going to get film developed ensures that I have hard copies of my photos. The Diana's shooting style is one of my favourites as it has either a half frame option or a square frame option. This basically means that on the half frame shooting mode you get 72 shots on one 35mm film instead of the standard 36. The square mode gives you 36 frames and produces a single shot in one frame. I took my Diana on its first outing this weekend to Knowsley Safari park and after one film breaking, I finally got back into the hang of loading film and managed to use a whole film of half shots so who knows what my pictures will look like! I plan on getting them developed some time today so I'm sure I'll be showing off my first batch of Diana Mini's later on!

So I'm off to Benicassim festuval in Spain next week and I have been trying to figure out what to take. It is SO hard! We will be camping so I don't want a load of stuff to be carrying around with me but limiting what I take is extremely challenging! I just can't wait until September when I go on a nice holiday with a pool. Here is one of my outfits which I am planning on taking (I think). The lace crop was originally a dress which came from ebay and was wayyy too big for me. The denim shorts were bought in my first week on my placement at Afflecks Palace and they are my first pair of comfy Levi vintage high waisters - usually I feel like an elephant as the waist sizes are so tiny! On my way back from York last weekend, we stopped at a farming shop for some barbicue treats and it had a little antique shop attached to it. Most of the items were jewellery and ornaments but hidden away underneath a table I found this beautiful bag. I have been ebaying for one like it for months and have always been outbid. Anyway I didnt buy it when I saw it, however was thinking about it allllllll weekend so I went to get it on the Tuesday and it was still there - definitely fate! It was £22 which is a VERY fair price as it is in perfect condition and real leather with so many different compartments and a detachable strap. It's just lovely and perfect! Here is a more close up picture than my look book post...

Okay so I've never been a massive shoe lover and have never really spent a lot on shoes - apart from over Winter when I was on a huge quest to find THE perfect brown boots which resulted in spending a LOT of money on different types of boots! So when I was 'trying' not to look in Topshop in York over the weekend as I have no money, I spotted these amazing Topshop Premium shoes which I have been dreaming about ever since. They're £130 and it's actually killing me that my bank balance won't allow it. They would be perfect for Summer with a maxi or a floaty smock. Fingers crossed they will go in the sale pretty soon!

This weekend I went to York for my Cousin's hen doo and it was furrnn. I had great intentions of getting up and seeing the sights of York by day and drinking (sensibly) by night. That didn't happen. I managed to stagger out of the hotel room for breakfast and drag some clothes on at around half 10 and then half heartedly wandered around York with my Nikon not really taking any worthy pictures! The second day - once again still drunk - I decided to just take my iphone to put the photography apps to good use.

York is beautiful and I do intend to go when I'm not carrying a blow up man called Roger More around with me! Anyway here are some lomo style photos and hipstamatic photos which I managed to snap of the Shambles in York Centre.

I also got a quick what I was wearing picture. Maxi's are an absolute dream when hungover and wanting something to throw on!

The run dmc top is a Tee and Cake design at Topshop and cost £22, the tye-dye jersey maxi is New Look and cost £25 and my jacket is a reeeally olf Topshop Moto one which I dug out for a revival.

I have now returned to my rubbish blogging stage. I am very ashamed of it but working full time and keeping a blog is wayyy too hard! I WILL be back in the next week (or so) with updates on all ive been buying, doing and listening too. I'm going to a festival in Manchester this weekend so will feature a what I've been wearing post and then the weekend after I'm off to York for my cousin's hen doo so many a lovely picture will be taken in York to show you all - and not of us blind drunk but of the shops and buildings...if I make it out of the hotel bar that is.

Some exciting news though, the lovely Claire at Sitting Pretty has featured me in her first 'Blogger Spotlight' feature! It's just a few questions and vain look book images but have a look - Claire is a way better blogger than me so have a mooch around her blog as it's lavely!!

The past week I've been to a couple of gigs - Biffy Clyro and Foals. I have seen both of these bands before at Leeds festival but it's always such a different atmosphere at a gig than at a festival. Biffy played at the Empress ballroom in Blackpool and Foals were on at the Ritz in Manchester.

Simon Neil is amazing and his tattoos are also amazing. They make me want to book more - which I'm working on at the moment it's just the funding which is the problem!

Foals new album is a must hear although I'm having problems actually getting it on my ipod at the moment but definitely worth buying. It's a bit different to the first album but different in a good way! God I'm such a good music critic.

I've recently decorated my room and had a massive clear out of all those clothes which I know I would never dare to wear again a.k.a awful Primark purchases beyond the point of looking fashionable anymore! Sooo I've thrown out some awful throwaway fashions which I wish I'd never bothered with and replaced them with some older items from a recent Manchester shopping trip and an ebay spree. My mum keeps going mad at me but when Retro Rehab has a £5 sale rail it's hard to pull myself away!

This Summer number is from Ebay and cost around £5. It's a really vibrant dress and I can't wait to wear it. It also came with...

Above was another Ebay bargain for around £4. Perfect for my many Summer festivals.

I'm not usually an orange person but I love the shape of this dress and the wrap round frill at the bottom of the dress. I'm still not sure if I will be taking it up or leaving it as it is. This was from Retro Rehab in Manchester for £5.

The last one is my favourite and it also from Retro Rehab costing me £5. I'm also unsure whether to hem this one up. I quite like the longer lengths on these two so I might just leave them and opt for a more lady like dress length!

Oh and if you're ever in or around Manchester make sure you visit Retro Rehab as when they have a sale rail it's worth having a look and every so often they have a sale day where you can get a bag and fill it for £10. How good is that?!

I went to Preston's new massssive Abakhan fabrics the other day for some thread and ended up spending way more than anticipated on a cute jar of buttons which they had just had delivered. Im a sucker for lovely buttons so I had to get them. They came in a small plastic jar with a pin cushion on the lid. The buttons inside are to die for and I can't wait to start ripping off my rubbish buttons on my clothes and sewing on these cute ones.

Today I've been starting some Critical Journal work for my third year prep at Uni. It's a sort of posh name for a sketchbook as we're supposed to write about the things we choose to put into our journals more than you would do with a basic sketchbook. I love doing my crit and I've decided to base it on some research for a possible case study topic. I've started with Me&Yu and the first few tasks and things I learnt and I'm going to include blogging, look book and a LOT of photography. I'm also going to try and focus on vintage vs commercial as this could be a starting point for my final case study writing - eeeeekk! Anyway I've taken some pictures of a few of the pages so far. I like to use different sketchbooks until I find one which I can really work with - hence the torn out sketchbook pages stuck into another book!

Today has been the first grey day I've seen in a while. Also it's the start of my intense diet so that I actually fit into my bridesmaid dress for my cousins wedding, which makes today even greyer! My look book post today was quite a dark one. My cardigan is a vintage one from Lost Property vintage right next door to Me&Yu in Afflecks and it's soooo warm. It'll come in handy next year in my flat when I'm too skint to put the heating on - maybe I'll go to the library more for warmth! My Dr Martens also feature in this look. They came in the post the other morning and they fit and are amazing!

My new dressing table is so cute and I love it to pieces. It did result in my dad calling me a "cock" as it only has one drawer and the masses of stuff I have is still in the office pissing my ma and pa off - but I love it anyway!

There it is already cluttered. The dressing table was £55 and the stool was £6 - bargains! I stole the mirror from my Sister's room as I decided that it looked wayyyy better in my room and it matches the colour of my dressing table so well. The bottom picture is of a reflection from my Urban Outfitters silver heart mirror, it was a wayyy too cute picture to miss out on.

I've been decorating my room for the past few months and have been on the look out for the perfect dressing table and stool combo. I finally dragged mum to this antique place called Bygone Times near Chorley and it is my favourite place in the world - well near enough! Its full of independent units which people hire out and sell their old and unwanted belongings. There are some amazing units selling weird and wonderful items which you wouldn't find anywhere else. There are vintage clothing units, vintage bag units, furniture units, a palm reader, jewellery units and even a cafe for a much needed coffee to start you on your treasure hunt!

Me&Yu Takes a Trip to college.

I did a photoshoot for Me&Yu this week with my friend Jennie. We wanted a sort of college girl, vintage styled shoot so I used a few different locations and dressed Jennie up in brogues, socks, nerdy glasses and headbands for that college girl feel. The bedroom ones are taken in my new bedroom with my new dressing table, mirror and stool (all bought by me - how grown up!), my garden also featured in the shoot along with the bottom of my local park. I loved doing this shoot as Jennie was really easy to work with and struck some major modelling poses for me and the style of the shoot really suits not only my personal style but shows a different side to the new "Takes a Trip" collection from Me&Yu.

My childhood pink bike also made an appearance and looked so cute in the pictures. I love the fact that the pictures show a story of a walk to school or walk back and the whole idea of not really growing up and still playing around as you did when you were young! And the look book addiction continues! I love love love this skirt and it was a bargain from H&M for £9.99 along with the stripey crop from Topshop at £14. This is a bit of a highstreet outfit but there is nothing wrong with that from time to time. Also I have my legs out. No tights. Just bare legs which is a VERY different thing for me. I only get my legs out in Summer or abroad! I am planning on doing an outside look book shoot next week as I have some time off (YESSSSS!) before I start full time hours at Outfit. I'm also planning on doing a shoot for Me&Yu next week hopefully so I'll be posting that as well.

Yeah so I have been getting the hang of look book in the past few days and it is actually addictive. Worse than Facebook. So here are a few of the looks I've posted in the past couple of days.

Oh and the shoes in the bottom look are some beauts which I've just added to my shoe collection. They're from Topshop and have a sweet crochet detail on the sides with a brogue look on the front. I love how they have thrown lace up boots, brogues and crochet sandals into one shoe. Topshop at its best. And I was going to work on the botton one which explains the all black! Makes a change from my floral addiction though.

I never used to wear socks with anything and now I can't seem to remove them from my feet. I have become addicted to buying cute pairs of socks to go with all my clothes. I usually wear them over my tights with brogues or with a pair of heels on a night out. When it's a little warmer I might wear them on their own - that's what I hate about Summer...getting my legs out ergh! I've found this one picture of me wearing socks - I think it was over Christmas - and it's not a very good photo but you get the picture.

The latest designer and highstreet collaboration has been all over the fashion weeklies this month and I love this new collection. Henry Holland has pulled off a highstreet miracle and this is now actually one of the only highstreet and designer collections I would shop in. I love the ditsy florals, biker boots, brown satchel, checked peg pants and 1950s style crop tops and playsuits. I think its an amazing collection and VERY well price pointed. I just had to buy a couple of pieces as it was 15% off on the internet so I thought it was fate telling me to kit myself out in H!

I bought...And I posted this look on look book. It was my first one and I don't know if I like the whole look book thing yet. I mean I like looking at others but it's such a ball ache doing your own. Also I hate pictures of myself unless they are photoshopped to hell so I guess I'm never going to be a fan of posting myself on look book. My walls are in this state as my room is in the process of being decorated - hopefully soonish they'll be lavley and floral.

...that these are DISGUSTING. I'm all for a bit of lace BUT lace flares?! LACE FLARES? I'm still shocked at how such a cool label such as Silence and Noise could possibly EVER design something like these? Yak yak yak. That's just my opinion of course - somebody out there will be rocking these inventions and probably looking sickeningly cool or just plain disastrous.

The Dazed Digital newsletter caught my eye with Peter Jensen's A/W 2010 collection. I love it. Double Magazine is a London and Manchester based magazine and it's pretty god dam cool. Me&Yu are teaming up with Double Magazine at a secret warehouse party in Manchester on March 13th to launch the new issue. With Me&Yu's new season collection "Me&Yu Takes a Trip" being released VERY soon it's the perfect opportunity for us to go all psychedelic and make a real impact at the event.

Double aims to showcase the best in new designers, arists, musicians, photographers, bands etc so how exciting is it that Me&Yu gets to be involved and I get to go the event waheyyyy!

I came across Mike Perry through the Urban Outfitters website. He works on many different things such as writing books, magazines, illustrations, clothing, drawings and paintings plus loads more. It was his illustrations which caught my eye. His use of colour and shape is immense and I could look at his work all day.

I don't usually shop in Miss Selfridge as sometimes I think it is a little Boho meets Topshop gone horribly wrong (if you get what I mean!). However, I was VERY surprised to see this red dress on the mannequin in the window last week.

I couldn't pull off a back view but the back of the dress has a criss cross design. I love it and I loved wearing it...apart from it being a little ill-fitting around the boob area but nothing wrong with a bit of cleav!

I love how her shoots seem to feature her friends and are a personal documentary of places she has been and things she has done. And proves you don't need a load of really expensive equipment to produce effectuve results.

I just CANNOT wait for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland to hit screens - not just because Jonny Depp is in it - but because I love the Alice in Wonderland story and have used it as Uni inspiration in the past. I came across these images...

The images are from Harper's Bazaar and are by a photographer called Tim Walker. Tim Walker also did the shoot for the Vogue December 2008 issue which is by far my favourite ever edition of Vogue. The two shoots are both similar with the Vogue shoot featuring Tim Burton and Helen Bonham Carter and obviously most of these images featuring characters from Tim Burton's stories and films. I love the dark essence behind Tim Burton and his characters. He creates a feeling of fear but awe at the same time. And I'm not afraid to admit that I still can hardly watch Edward Scissorhands as he scares me too much!

With Me&Yu's new collection coming out soon it's photoshoot time and I'll definitely be adding these to my tear sheet inspiration. These images are so relevant with the inspiration of the collection being pshychedelia and the name of the collection being "Me&Yu takes a trip".

I love stumbling across cute dresses made by people who love making re-worked items with a lot of care and effort put into them. Tonight I have found the cutest little collection of vintage re-works on Ebay. They are from Jennifer Lily and they're just lovely. Here's one which I won...

A few months ago, my best friend Jenna agreed (reluctantly) to do some modelling shots for Me&Yu's website. John Clarke of Resurrect Studios shot the images and I styled and threw the clothes at Jenna for her to put on as we had the entire Afflecks shop to shoot in a limited amount of time. This is my favourite image from the shoot and has been put up on the Myspace page. Unfortunately the dog tooth cardi has since been sold - I had to hand it over graciously to the lucky girl who bought it!

I love the clash of the prints and textures and I felt it gave the shots a more styled and thought over look which also could help a customer in styling their Me&Yu items. If anyone wants a similar version of the cardi I THINK Topshop had/has one. I can't find it on the website but a good charity shop trawl should end with a result.

I spotted some pretty cool Clarks boots in a magazine before Christmas and I wanted them straight away. After looking in my local Clarks store with no luck I decided that I had dreamt them but NO I have just stumbled across them whilst looking on the Clarks website...student loan Monday...hello new boots! Now the question is black or brown...

and check out the fur inside! Im actually praying for more snow so I can totter around in these! I can't believe that Clarks have actually made these and they don't look like something a Sunday school teacher would rock up in.

I went up to Blackpool on Monday to pick up some Me&Yu press history to scan into my computer and whilst I was there Angie took me round some charity shops. Blackpool charity shopping is pretty good as there are so many different parts to the town which I never knew existed! I got a few bargains which ill show you when they come out of the wash. I wore one of them on Monday night to my local haunt Roper Hall in Preston. Its a black and white dog tooth long shirt/blouse which I wore open with a Topshop floral number and my favourite Topshop heart tights. I had some Topshop flat brown pointy brogue things on too - what a Topshop whore have I become?! STILL haven't worked out my tripod so it was a Myspace mirror attempt...

One day I will be a pro at look book so I'll hopefully be posting some cool look book images of what I've been wearing. I guess I'm also a little skeptical of the whole "What I wore" thing as I hate posing pictures and always feel VERY vain. It's a conversation Claire from Sitting Pretty and I recently had but fashion is a vain industry and I love seeing what others are wearing so I'll just join the vein bandwagon!

I have a basket full of fashion books, treasured (and expensive!) fashion magazines and street style pages which I love looking at from time to time for inspiration or just to pass the time. Angie of Me&Yu extended my book collection with two new books for my birthday! One is The Sartorialist and the other is British Fashion Designers.

The Sartorialist is a famous style blog which I've been meaning to check out for months. His book shows hundreds of different shots of people he has been drawn to across the world. I like how he describes his style shots as being drawn to a specific piece of clothing, jewellery or an accessory. At times it's not the full outfit but something which triggers inspiration or a certain feeling towards an outfit. I recommend you all get a copy!

I have been beyond a useless blogger over Christmas. The mixture of parties, alcohol, catching up with friends, shopping, family gatherings and watching Christmas television has meant I've not had much time to blog blog blog! Im still getting used to blogging regularly and I've made it a new years resolution to be more consistent and basically good with my blog.

Soooo let's start the New Year with a blog about my lurrvellyyy shiny new Nikon D5000. Here it is with my fabulous vintage sequin number before my works doo...

I am planning some more what I've been wearing posts but first I need to figure out my tripod and also have a look at look book more closely. Hopefully there'll be some in the very near future!

I've just got my new Nikon D5000 camera for my birthday (which is in a week but hey!) so I'm really looking forward to posting some better pictures with my posts. I've also joined Lookbook after getting an invite from the lovely Sitting Pretty blogger Claire so I can post my looks and what I've been wearing. I'm pretty excitable at the minute!
